Why we exist

Roost N Run was started because shopping for a chicken coop online is still broken in 2026. Most online shops sell three or four generic coops sized for "2-6 hens" with no real guidance on fit. Big-box stores stock the cheapest possible builds that fall apart in a single winter. Premium custom builders quote $5,000+ and 12-week lead times for what is essentially a hen house.

We built Roost N Run as the middle option : 33 dedicated SKUs across 6 form factors, real specs on every product page, US warehouse shipping in 3-7 days for parcel coops, and a catalog that actually covers 2-hen mobile tractors through 40-hen commercial walk-in runs.

What we ship from

Our US fulfillment center is in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Most coops ship parcel via UPS or FedEx Ground in 3-7 business days. Commercial walk-in runs ship LTL freight on a pallet in 7-14 days. Free shipping on orders over $200.

The catalog philosophy

Every coop in our line earns its place by solving a specific problem :

We don't carry house brands we wouldn't put in our own backyard. If we can't recommend it to a beginner who emails us a photo of their setup, it isn't in the catalog.

Our blog is written and edited by Sarah Wren, a 12-year backyard chicken keeper with a mixed flock of 18 birds in cold-climate zone 5. Every breed guide and care article is cross-referenced with hatchery breed standards (Murray McMurray, Cackle, Meyer, Hoover's), university extension publications, and the Merck Veterinary Manual. We mark anything that is analyst opinion vs surveyed fact, and we never prescribe drugs — if you need medical advice for a sick bird, contact a licensed avian veterinarian.
